Learning to blow bubbles.....

Well Daddy has been doing a little better the last few days. He is gradually going downhill and it is very hard to watch. I have been trying to bury myself in my scrapbook stuff I don't have to deal with the pain of watching someone slip away from my life. He has been sleeping alot more and hasn't been able to make it to his bedpan for the last few days. One a better note..... his trach has been doing better and he hasn't asked for much instant relief pain pills in the last few days either!!! I just hope that's a good sign so far. I am so worried about him and would really hate to lose him. He's my daddy. :'( Well I have been talking to my Uncle James (dad half-brother) since daddy came home from the hospital. I have only met him once in my life and I was about 10ish. He lives in Jacksonville, FL which is about 6-7 hours east of here. So he decided to come visit this weekend. He got here Friday evening and visited for a few hours and came back all day Saturday. The girls had a blast playing with him. Here is a picture of daddy and Uncle James.
Believe it or not, but they only have the same mother and look so much alike!!!

Well anyways here is an adorable LO I was able to get done today. I love the Bo Bunny Peacock Lane!! Just vibrant, gorgeous colors!!! Well for the SASsy Color My World Round 6 Challenge #2 was to use teal, purple, and lime green which are all featured in this beautiful line. Did I mention how gorgeous this line is? lol. Well my lilybug had the most beautiful blue eyes when she was a baby and along with her purple dress it made this LO work.

Daddy Update

Well daddy came home Wednesday nite with Hospice care. He seems to be doing better. I got to ride in the front of the ambulance when they brought him home! He had a tracheotomy a week ago so they didn't feel comfortable with him leaving in a regular vehicle. We got him all settled in and ready to go. The nurses checked him out and we started unpacking all the supplies the hospice brought and the hospital gave us. It was alot! The nurse set up his feeding tube pump. Well about midnight daddy said he was feeling nausea so I turned it off and disconnected it. I gave him some Zofran, but that didn't help he ended up getting sick. I panic of course and the nurse tells me it'll be ok just make sure his trachea stays clean and clear. That is the only thing I can't handle! He didn't sleep too good that night so neither did I, but his recliner is ALOT more comfortable than the one at the hospital.

Thursday he had a really good day. I woke up and noticed the feeding tube bag had come apart and leaked all over the rug. It was already soaked up so there was nothing I could do. The aide came out and cleaned him up which of course he didn't like cause he was cold. lol. It was Noah's birthday party so my sis was suppose to come over early so I could show her what to do. Instead she shows up over 30 min late! The nurse was still here so he showed her most of the stuff and of course she didn't ask any questions. Well he hooks up the feeding tube pump and leaves. Well a little bit later daddy's feeling sick again so my sis turns the pump off but never disconnects it from his stomach!!! Thanks goodness the tubing on the bag broke cause he would have ended up with over 400mL in his stomach! She's in a panic and on the phone with the nurse cause she thinks it all went in his stomach. The floor was too soaked for that. The nurse drives 40 min thinking she has a patient in severe pain and everything else cause all this fluid was drained into his stomach. Well she gets here and of course my sis has already left by then. So we had to figure it out all on our own. Thank goodness my sis can't keep her story straight cause there was nothing in his stomach! Needless to say because of that incident daddy was worried about me leaving him with someone else. So I ended up having to miss work again and stay home with him. He had a pretty rough day. Coughing up alot of phlegm thru his trach. He didn't eat at all and was in alot of pain. The nurse ended up increasing his pain patch and his instant relief morphine pills. He slept thru the night!!!!! So exciting!!! Today he had a really great day too and actually let me feed him some thru his tube.

My dad......

I have lots of new pages I want to share with all of you! I have every intention of taking close-ups of them. I just haven't had the time lately. My girls and I have been staying at the hospital since Saturday nite! It's exhausting. My dad has terminal cancer. It is very hard seeing him go thru all of this. They did a tracheotomy and moved him up to the pallaitive care floor. He is in good hands, but it is like hospice for the hospital. They are here to make him comfortable. If my stepmom and I can agree on a hospice care company then we can probably get him home soon, but she is a horrible decision maker. But anyways......my dad is doing as good as to be expected. It's just hard having to deal with taking care of him and 2 girls (4 & 7) with very little help. My stepmom doesn't stay up here long and my sis seems to not care. She hardly checks up on him and I finally got her to sit with him today and all she did was complain. Why can't people be grateful for what they already have? When will the world stop having such selfish people? A short word of advice.....Spend as much time as you can with your loved ones and cherish every moment with them! You never know what might happen the next day.... just some advice I have learned over these past few days. Scrapbooking has become a wonderful way for people to perserve the most cherishable moments. Even if you have no pics at least journaling about it can help. Thanks so much for following and I hope to get some new pages up by this weekend for y'all.

My Cooking Queen

For this month's Scrapbook Play over at Sassy is a fun-filled challenge. The task was to create a LO highlighting a physical trait of a friend/family member. So I have decided to do my beautiful Elisabeth. She loves to cook or at least help out in the kitchen. When she goes over to Bo's house, she always gets to help cook dinner.

So for Christmas I got all sorts of scrappy stuff. I let my daughters pick it all out. I got the Crate Paper Orbit collection and absolutely loved playing with it for this page. It was alot of fun!
