Dream - 7/15

It's the 15th which means another fun challenge over at About A Girl!!! It took me a little while to get this one done. The sketch was easy, but the torn paper got me. I hit a brick wall for some reason... so I started looking around my scraproom for inspiration. I saw my Tim Holtz distress tool and knew it was perfect for this project! Technically it's tearing the edge of the paper when you run it across the edges. I found this really cute page kit at Hobby Lobby on clearance. I've been dying to use it!!!

The Challenge:
Use this sketch along with torn papers & flowers

Come play along with both challenges this month!!!!

It's a girl - 5/13

Well as many of you know I have been working on a baby album for my bestie. She had a girl last week. I was actually able to finish her album before the baby was born!!! I'm such a good scrappy friend! She had a gorgeous, healthy baby girl last friday!. So over the next few weeks, you will see some of the pages I did for her album. I actually got ahead on my DT work for once!! The great thing was that I used the fabulous sketches at Let's Get Sketchy to help complete it! I even used a few old ones as well. It's not my week to post, but I still loved this sketch.

The Sketch:

Friendly Pelican - 3/22

I am still playing along with the Birthday Sketch-A-Thon. Sketches are fun to help inspire you. Sometimes they help get the mojo moving and sometimes you end doing a page that doesn't look much like the sketch. I've been known to do that too. Well this one resembles the sketch a little. I added more to it since I'm not a fan of alot of "white" space on my pages.

This is an awesome sketch by my friend Lisa! Her twist was to use 2 tickets on anywhere on the page. Well this pelican didn't mind me getting up close to it. It was quite funny to be able to get up close to one and it not fly away.

The Sketch:

My Page:
The wind was blowing when I took the pic of my page.

Relax'n - 3/18

Friday I finally got to go to a crop!!! I haven't been in months due to so much happening with holidays, school stuff, and life. I had so much fun seeing all my favorite ladies!! I especially love the food and the chatting. I don't have to crop alone. lol. I usually only get a page or 2 done during the crop, but hey it's all worth it! Creative Memories has some very cute stuff coming out this spring! I even got my hands on some really cute spring stickers.

Well 1 of the pages I got done was of course for my DT work at LGS!!! I really enjoyed playing with this week's sketch. I was able to add several of my own touches to it to make it my own. I struggled a little trying to find the right background paper and I'm definitely not a big fan of paisley.

The Sketch:

My Page:
Authentique Loyal papers, Thickers

Close-ups:
Bling, flowers, Liquid Pearl
Used alcohol ink on chipboard butterfly, then added smooch gold on top

2 border punches
added liquid pearls to punch

Come join in the fun all month long!

Hands on - 3/11

Every year the Sea Lab puts on an all day event for children during the summer. It's a special program to help teach them about our local Gulf waters. They offer it several times during the summer cause it fills up quick. The girls have been going for years and love it! I think I learn something new every time I go. lol. They even get to go out into the water and try to find some of the wildlife they learned about.

These are from part of the day with Lilybug. She got to look at all the cool animals that live in our waters. I also used the Midweek Mojo over at ScrapbookSteals! I love shopping their deals as well! Great prices on just about anything scrappy!!!

The Sketch:
The great thing about this sketch is that there is so much more that can be added to it!!!
I love sketches that allow my mind to wonder into creativity land!!

Ponder.... 2/25

Yesterday evening some bad weather was coming our way. I decided what better way to spend the evening than to SCRAP! I have been enjoying my new printer and love being able to pick out the photos I want to use for certain pages. Now I don't have a stack of photos lying around or managing to get shuffled out of order by the girls. I was playing along with My Scraps & More Sketches. This week's sketch had me thinking a little. I decided to not use the circle, but rather keep a more sharp, clean look to my page. After I got my papers down, I realized it was missing something. So scrappy friends came to the rescue to help! Bev helped alot as well with some ideas. So here is my final result....... I am very happy with how it turned out!

The Sketch:

My Page:
Materials:
Bazzill cardstock
Authentique papers
Momenta stickers
Fiskars border punch
Petaloo flowers
AC vinyl thickers
Punchinella, twine, white gel pen

Close-ups:
Petaloo flowers and Momenta sticker

Twine and Fiskars border punch

AC vinyl Thickers and twine wrapped around mats and pic

I love how this turned out!
Hope y'all play along too!!!

Cypress Stump - 2/24

Well the time is almost here. Creative Scrappers is coming to a temporary stop. They are taking a leave of absence, but will keep the site up from what I read. I enjoy playing along with their sketches even if sometimes I don't make the deadline. They are great for inspiration especially when you get stuck. Well I got stuck with this page. I knew what papers I wanted to use but just couldn't get the page to come together. After fooling with it for 2 days and rearranging it 4 times..... I finally got it. This sketch also helped as well and I'm still able to enter it!
